One thing I’ve noticed about the law is that there’s a gap between knowing the law and the people who actually need to know it.
Judges, Lawyers, other legal practitioners and law students sure do know, but what about the public.
Take intellectual property, for example. Many creators may and do not know their rights or how to protect their work.
A 2025 study of 185 copyright owners found that, although many knew about copyright and ownership, a significant number were unaware of the provisions of Nigeria’s Copyright Act 2022.

There is a need to make law easier to understand for this gap to be bridged.
After all, what good is having rights if you don’t know they exist?
